David Melin serves as our pastor. He and his wife Karen and their four children, Elizabeth, Reilly, Samuel and Zachary, moved to Rush City in May of 1998. They enjoy the small town feel of our community. He was raised in a pastor’s home and was exposed to the gospel, the “good news” that Jesus Christ saves, at an early age. He grew up in small towns in the Dakotas where he developed his love for the rural ministry. His primary task is to equip his people so they can effectively engage in the ministy. He also serves as an adjunct professor of Bible at Northwestern College in Roseville, Minnesota and at Kremenchuk Regional Bible College in Ukraine. On a personal note his favorite pastimes include riding his bicycle, listening to classical music, reading history, and fishing.
Jason Karlson serves as our youth leader. Jason and his wife Emily (Engler) both grew up in Rush City and were married in July of 2005. He recieved Christ as his Savior in junior high and it is his passion to tell teenagers about this awesome God and the joy that can be found in Him alone. In high school Jason had a group of Christian friends who encouraged each other to grow in their faith. It is his goal to build up a group of teens that can stand firm together for Christ in Rush City. He oversees the entire youth program and works with the lay leaders and a youth advisory committee to plan events and evaluate the effectiveness of the youth program. Jason presently serves this ministry in a half-time position. |
